Our story
THE FIRST WAVE
Founded in 2016 by Lulu Luchaire, a Paris-born creative visionary based in California for the past two decades, Ondalinda began as an intimate music and art gathering in La Habana, Cuba. What started as a celebration of friendship and artistic expression—marking the launch of Cuban artist Damián Aquiles’ new studio—became the seed of a global movement. The name Onda Linda—meaning “beautiful wave”—was born as Lulu strolled along Havana’s Malecón, watching the ocean gently embrace the city’s shores. That wave became a metaphor for connection, culture, and flow—a current that continues to carry Ondalinda forward today.
Following that first magical event, Lulu turned her gaze toward Mexico, where she met Filippo Brignone, son of Careyes’ founder Gianfranco Brignone, and Philippe Moellhausen, a visionary creative producer. Together, they brought to life Ondalinda x Careyes—a multi-sensory celebration of music, art, and spirit set within one of Mexico’s most breathtaking coastal enclaves. Drawing deep inspiration from indigenous traditions, the festival became a sanctuary for cultural exchange and inner transformation.
Today, Ondalinda stands as a testament to Lulu’s vision—a transformative journey of connection, community, and cultural preservation, brought to life in extraordinary destinations across the globe. At the heart of Lulu’s mission is a deep reverence for craftsmanship and cultural diversity. As she often says: “My worst nightmare would be a world where everyone speaks the same language, eats the same food, wears the same clothes, and worships the same gods.” Each Ondalinda gathering is a celebration of uniqueness—honoring local traditions, collaborating with artisans, and giving back to the communities that inspire us.
